To Phrygia...      03.09.2011 22:55:43 --- 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Roman army in the East had just turned back to Halikarnassos. Two days earlier, Denis had received an urgent message from its Prytaneis, announcing a Phrygian army approached their walls. Princeps Senatus, after meeting Consules Dacamaca and Spartacus, decided to undertake a forced march to reach the city as soon as possible. Upon their arrival, however, battle was over. Troops of the new Queen of Phrygia, Lorla, despite of their courage, weren't able to take the walls. In fact, both Queen and her General Staff had been captured and stayed imprisoned in the city.

On hearing the news, Denis ordered to send a messenger to Nicaea, reporting capture of his Queen. He also requested from the Council to move high-rank prisoners to a suitable accommodation at former Royal Palace, while privates were housed at arsenal of Salmacis, giving them everything necessary.

Although had often discussed possibility of signing a peace treaty with Phrygians, Ishabell's constant negatives made allied leaders desist from that question long ago. Nevertheless, given new circumstances and with a new Queen in Phrygia, Denis drafted a treaty based on criteria established by Lars Porsenna, Marcus Aurelius, Sigfried, Serbo Makaridov, and Aelius Decimus. After making an interpreter translate it into phrygian, Princeps Senatus ordered it to be delivered to Queen Lorla in her new rooms in the palace.

QUOTE:

To Lorla,
Former Queen of Cappadokia,
New Queen of Cilicia,

Our Peoples had been fighting for a long time throughout the Mediterraneum. Our last battle finished only a few days ago. Roman People know how to value his enemies' courage, and do not want to continue this endless conflict. In this spirit, Senate and People of Rome, both with their Teutonic, Etruscan, Hellenic and Egyptian allies, offer now a peace treaty to Phrygia:

- An inmediate ceasefire will start between our nations, and our diplomatic status will turn back to its original Friendly position.

- Roman armies and allies will turn back to roman territory.

- Phrygia will be able to reconquer its former territories in Ephesos [438], Beydili [443], Antalya [441] and Denizli [439]. Polis [447] province in Cyprus will remain in Egyptian hands. Burnu [440] province will remain under Roman rule until evacuation of allied forces in Asia Minor is complete, then will be set free and Phrygia will be able to take it back.

- This peace treaty will last between our nations for 5 AE years. During that time, any hostilities between armies of Phrygia, Egypt, Hellenic Nation, Teutonic Tribe, Etruscan Cities or the Roman Republic will be considered a breach of the treaty, and may result in an immediate resumption of the conflict.

- Neither the Roman Republic, nor Etruscan Cities, nor Kingdom of Egypt, or Teutonic Tribe will receive any war reparation. Instead, 750 silver pieces will be delivered from Phrygia to Hellenic Nation for damage caused during conflict to their territories. A two months period will be available to carry out this requirement and, if necessary, Roman Republic will act as guarantor for Hellenic Nation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the hope you will give peace a chance,

Respectfully yours,

Denis Cicic
Princeps Senatus of the Roman Republic
