In 308 BCE, the Melek Bomilcar tried to dissolve the Carthagian Senate. When the Carthagian people decided to support the Senate, Bomilkar was taken captive and he and his son were executed. His daughter, Medea survived and was forced into the religious caste, she became a servant of Tanit.

Ten years later:

On the day the young priestess of Tanit, Medea became 15 years old, a servant of the new Melek Hamilkar, who had managed to eliminate his Co-Consul two years before, visited her after the sacrificial rituals for Tanit. The servant informed the girl about the Melek's attempt to court her.
She was not surprised, as daughter of the last ruler of Carthage she expected to get married to the next autocrat, who would be able to establish himself as surpreme power over the power of the Senate. She expected this person to tie his claim up to her father's position by marrying the girl who was onced called a princess.
The wedding ceremony was quickly settled.

Young Hamilkar Barca, the new elected head of state council, nominated himself as King of Carthago and nobody in Senate resist him, because state council was full of weak and old senators. Then he was officially crowned in Marduks temple in Carthago.

But his position was not very stabile. In Carthago were forces, that didn`t like Hamilkar, "Usurpator" as they called him. When he called this nickname first time, he killed some of servants, that have brought it to him. But then he had an idea: I can`t kill everybody in Qart Hadašt. Even if I will kill them, they will still be here in they friends etc. But if I will marry Bomilkar daughter, i will overdraw some of my enemies to my camp. It would be nice beginning of my rule over Carthago.

It happened, what it happened. Hamilkar married Medea, the only daughter of Bomilkar the former Melek, head of state council and some of mighty citizens stopped their fights against him and slowly began to support him.

But for now the boy was only a newborn child. An old companion since the days she was a kid herself, and deerest friend to Medea was chosen to be the child's foster mother. The woman was called Lyssa. Whenever the mother had to care about the sacral duties and the shallow representative duties as Hamilkar's wife, Lyssa took care of the child. She then sang the traditional songs to him, she carried him through the city, and so showed the prince to the public. The carthagians loved their new prince, his mother was much valued by the population again. After his death the love for Medea, the daughter of the Melek had dwindled, now with the marriage to the new ruler and the birth of a son, her reputaion had been restored.
Hanibal had become the centre of her life and whenever possible she took him herself to the streets, so that he was available to the people from the very beginning, he was to become their prince as well as hers and Hamilkar's.

Hamilkar, Melek of the citizens of Carthage, had set sail into the rising sun and left his pregnant wife behind in the safety of the city. Lyssa took care not only for the firstborn, but also for her old friend Medea again.
The queen's private chambers in the royal palace had been stuffed out with all sorts of comforting cushions, thick carpets and furs, fair and gauzy courtains coloured the intruding light blue and green.
When Hamilkar stood in fron of the Cilician's Archon, his wife gave birth to a second son. Ailing was the newborn, hardly ever crying and with a skin so pale, that the blue-coloured sunlight made him appear cyanotic. Medea was concerned the boy would die any minute, but his breath remained thin but steady.
Lyssa tried every trick to chear up the young mother, but with the father gone, the pressure lied on Medea alone, and even Lyssa was not able to take away significant weight of it.

After three weeks the condition of the newborn child was stable and Medea allowed Lyssa to separate him from her for a couple of hours, so that she could handle the affairs of the Carthaginians.
Hamilkar had lead his warriors conquering the provinces around the city, but now the task was to integrate these territories into the empire. Medea decided to develop food production to satisfy the increased demand. New governmental structures had to be installed and observed, roads had to be constructed and maintained, the villages and towns had to be connected to Carthage, to enable the import of tax revenue and tributes, slaves were needed in all the new settlements to assure the productivity needed to maintain the new empire.
The city of Carthage was nearly bankrupted to achieve the ambitious plans, but first result could be noticed and most of them were of good nature and to the benefit of the old and new citizens of the empire.

The Carthaginian warriors had sailed to Europe to participate at the Championship Games and their army was defeated.
To badly they had been trained, to quarreled their army leaders had been.
The tribe's warriors did not even manage to march home in one band, but every one decided to make their way on their own.
Some decided to stay at the northern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and to not return home.

Medea, young princess of Carthage had moved ahead, clearing a path for the other warriors.
The Etruscian tribe had the greatness to let the foreign warriors pass through their lands, Medea was even allowed to visit the Etruscian capital on her way.

Inside her sleave she carried the last orders from her husband Hanibal, Melek of Carthage. The letter made her Seren of Erg.
What a disgrace to the daughter of the last Melek, and a priestess of the Tanit temple of Carthage.
The letter meant nothing else but banishment from the palace, the city even.
