Only a few days later, not even a cycle of the moon , a larger ship arrives with sails of a yellow color, as if to suggest Gold. From this the reaction of the Carthaginian diplomats Shazir is certain that it is their Great King, their Melek, Hamilkar.
Not certain what to expect Shazir dresses well in his red robes of state and the golden sandals he wore to his first sons dedication before the people. His sons in fact are both dressed in purest white samite robes with some gold necklaces and a little reddish cole on their eyelids for color.
The youngest, Charon of course is still an infant and his light gold chains are found mostly wrapped in his tiny fists and being pushed into his mouth.
The oldest, Aether is trying to understand how such a small thing weighs so much around his young neck. And he is fascinated by the small (but blunt ) ceremonial dagger he has been given to wear. Even Charon's nursemaid has one.
(No Cillician noble will be ever found without a weapon to take his enemies...or his own, life. Captured while defenseless is not an option for this King or his family.)
Off the royal family go to the great stone water break of the port. It is a time to welcome. As many of the Cillician Elders as can be gathered have chosen to see the ruler of these far away people. None known what to expect.
Shazir stands back near the beginning of the stone docks so the Carthaginian diplomats can arrange a proper welcome for their Melek.
He does notice that some plates of flower petals and some carpets have been brought along with some of the slaves given to him as a gift.
Seeing that things are all to his satisfaction, Shazir has added only a large Amphorea of wine and some clean mountain water.
One to wet the rulers lips, and the other to wash the hands and feet of the guest as they finish their travel on friendly shores.
As a tall and serious figure steps forward from a tent on the deck of the ship Shazir looks on waiting for the diplomats to welcome and speak with their own King.
