The ligurian messenger enjoyed his rest at the palace in Verona. Bread, olives, cheese and wine stood on a small table before him while his horse had been refreshed in the stable. In the meantime a clerk in the archons office copied the text of the nonaggression pact between Liguria and Etruria onto a parchment. At the time the clerk finished his work, Lars Porsenna signed the treaty and attached his seals on the document to make it official. In the following morning, the messenger was on his way back to Liguria
QUOTE:
Dear honorable Gaius Julius
Enclosed to this paper is the treaty of our nonaggression pact, signed and under seal. From now on, the terms of this treaty are in force. May both the ligurian and etrurian people live together in friendship for many years.
In the name of Jupiter Optimus Maximus.
Greetings
Lars Porsenna
Archon of Etruria
King of the Federation of the twelve Cities
