More and more messages from traders and fishermen, acting in the Adriatic sea are speaking from battles along the Dalmatine coast. These are worrying news. Etruria was bound to both Romans and Dacians by nonagression pacts. But how fast could the war spread over to Etruscan lands. Porsenna saw the importance of a clear declaration of the Etruscan position and sent two messages. The first to Zamolxis, leader of Dacia, the second to the Roman Senate. Hoping to fend off a war, in which Etruria have nothing to win.
QUOTE:
Dear honourable Zamolxis
King of Dacia
To the honourable Senate of Rome
we heard from battles between Dacian and Roman forces. So I want to determine Etrurias diplomatic position to you.
Etruria have a nonagression pact both with Dacia and Roman Republic in force. I will affirm it and declare Etrurias neutrality in the conflict between Rome and Dacia.
Our borders are closed from now on for all armies, who want to attack any province being adjacent to Etruscan borders. Single warriors both of Roman Republic and Dacia have to be announced from now on.
May the gods bring peace again to your lands.
Greetings
Lars Porsenna
King of etruria
King of the Federation of the twelve Cities
